RTC of Washoe County Selects Ride Right to Operate ACCESS ADA Paratransit Services
In an effort to continue ensuring quality, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency, the Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Washoe County, Nevada selected Ride Right to operate its ACCESS paratransit system. RTC ACCESS—which serves a ridership of approximately 3,600 eligible passengers in the Reno area—provides door-to-door Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) paratransit services. Under the contract, Ride Right will oversee all aspects of ACCESS services, including paratransit delivery, maintenance, and real-time technology and software support.
The contract, which goes live on July 1, 2017, has a base term of six years, plus four one-year renewal options. During implementation, Ride Right will recruit a local team of nearly 70 staff, including management, drivers, maintenance personnel, dispatchers, and reservationists. This team will ensure the successful operation of ACCESS’s 50 wheelchair accessible, compressed natural gas (CNG)-operated vehicles.
“With innovative approaches that maintain strong program quality, safety, and compliance, Ride Right looks forward to a partnership with RTC that will effectively handle projected growth while balancing cost-efficiency and service excellence,” said Ride Right President and CEO Alaina Maciá. “Through creative, thoughtful collaboration, we will achieve RTC’s ultimate goal: ensuring passengers receive quality, reliable services.”
