Ride Right Live in Reno with The Regional Transportation Commission
The Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) of Reno, Nevada selected Ride Right to operate its ACCESS paratransit system earlier this year in the spring. After much time, energy, and passion was dedicated towards implementation, the first (RTC) Access bus operated by Ride Right pulled out of our lot at 5:45am on July 1st.
From the 1st through July 5th, we received 2,246 incoming calls in regards to trip reservations or trip status and provided 2,680 trips. RTC’s member base is comprised of approximately 3,600 eligible passengers for Access door-to-door Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) paratransit services.
With staff totaling over 70 individuals, the Ride Right Reno team will be one of our largest nationwide. Some employees transitioned to the Ride Right work force after having been with RTC for more than years, and bring with them an incredible amount of experience. These drivers know their passengers so well that they become part of their regular day. These RTC veterans have been extremely excited to learn more about Ride Right. They along with the rest of the new team recently completed new hire orientation, customer service and contract training, and behind the wheel and safety training. The staff’s passion and dedication has been infectious and their focus on safety and service has been impeccable. We now have 48 active drivers and an additional 10 in training.
Our contract withThe Regional Transportation Commission of Washoe County has a base term of six years, plus four one-year renewal options. Our Ride Right team will ensure the successful operation of ACCESS’s 50 wheelchair accessible, compressed natural gas (CNG)-operated vehicles. We’re excited to show Reno members that “Every trip is important!”
