Ride Right Supports Farmington Emergency Preparedness Drill
Ride Right employees dedicated to the success of Red Apple Transit in Farmington, New Mexico supported an emergency preparedness drill alongside San Juan County and local police, firefighters, public works teams, and others on Wednesday, September 13th. We participated in the drill by providing a bus and driver to shuttle participants from a holding area to the simulation at city hall. In a real event, our staff would shuttle the public away from an emergency-declared evacuation zone to a safe one.
Our local Ride Right team and Red Apple Transit Administration share a strong, positive working relationship. Once the drill was complete, Red Apple Transit expressed their confidence in our ability to safely evacuate civilians in an emergency situation. From General Manager to drivers, all staff are prepared to execute such emergency operations if the city may ever need to do so.
Some of the city’s drill participants mentioned to our driver that they had yet to ride on the Red Apple bus prior to the day’s event. As they unloaded the bus, each would express how much they enjoyed their ride and even let our team know that they were now more inclined to utilize public transportation in the future! The City of Farmington’s General Services Director & Emergency Preparedness Manager said, “The drill was a huge success! We were able to meet some important training objectives, learn some valuable lessons and ultimately make Farmington a safer place to live, work and play.”
